25,000-Acre Brush Fire Breaks Out At Big Cypress National Preserve In Florida

A 25,000-acre brush fire is burning at the Big Cypress National Preserve in Collier County.

On Tuesday, motorists driving on Interstate 75 south near mile marker 78 are experiencing plumes of smoke emanating from the national preserve.

WINK News contacted Big Cypress National Preserve regarding the containment levels of the brush fire. A representative said that 0% of the fire has been contained.

Representatives from Big Cypress National Preserve added that suppression operations will be used, including burning along roads.
