- A wrong-way driver caused a four-car accident on Interstate 17 in Arizona, killing three Grand Canyon University freshman.
- The female students – Abriauna Hoffman, 18, Magdalyn ‘Maggie’ Ogden, 18, and Hunter Balberdi, 19 – were in the southbound lane at around 4 a.m. when they were struck and killed by a driver headed northbound. Two of the women died at the scene and a third was in critical condition and died at a Phoenix hospital.
- The driver, who has not been identified, was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
