3 Dead As Historic Snowstorms Smothers Upstate New York

  • An historic storm dumped as much as 6 feet of snow across northern United States and causing at least three deaths.
  • Buffalo was hit especially hard, getting more than 5 feet of snow by early Saturday. The Buffalo Bills, whose home field was hit with 77 inches of snow, were forced to move their Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns to Detroit.
  • Two Buffalo residents died from cardiac events after shoveling snow. Also, a snowplow driver in Hamlet, Ind., died when his plow slid off pavement and rolled over.
