- A panel of her fellow judges determined that she lacks the mental fitness to continue serving on the bench. This suspension, which is expected to last for a year, was mandated by the Federal Circuit’s Judicial Council.
- The decision to suspend Judge Newman comes in the wake of the panel’s assertion that she has not cooperated with an investigation into “reasonable concerns” regarding her mental capacity.
