Another “suspicious device” was found in the Upper East Side of Manhattan just one day after an explosive device was thrown outside of Gracie Mansion during a protest, according to police.
Officials said the device was found in a car on East End Avenue between 81st Street and 82nd Street.
“NYPD officers have frozen the area around the vehicle and are conducting limited evacuations of buildings in the vicinity while the Bomb Squad assesses and removes the device,” the NYPD said on social media Sunday afternoon.
NYPD Bomb Squad vehicles, along with dozens of police officers, were seen in the roped-off area around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the device that was thrown outside Gracie Mansion on Saturday was legitimate and could have caused serious injury or death.
