- Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is reportedly not planning to run against Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for the fellow Democrat’s Senate seat in the 2024 election.
- “She is not planning to run for Senate in 2024. She is not planning to primary Gillibrand,” Ocasio-Cortez spokesperson Lauren Hitt told Politico.
- The outlet noted that the Squad member not planning to run is different than declaring that she will not, but “her comment is the most definitive statement to date that a 2024 Senate campaign is not in the cards.”
