• Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won her reelection bid to stay in Congress, beating Republican challenger Tina Forte in an expected midterm win in New York’s 14th District.
• Ocasio-Cortez, known as AOC, is considered to be one of the most progressive Democrats in Congress, known for being very vocal regarding women’s and LGBT rights, climate change, and criminal justice reform. She became the youngest female member of the House of Representatives in 2018 at 29 years old and continues to be the youngest representative.
