Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren did not violate the First Amendment by asking Amazon to censor the book, “The Truth About COVID-19: Exposing the Great Reset, Lockdowns, Vaccine Passports, and the New Normal,” a federal appeals court ruled.
Warren mace the demand in a September 2021 letter after finding the book ranked among Amazon’s “best sellers.” The authors and their publisher sued Warren, citing the First Amendment.
The Ninth Circuit agreed that the plaintiffs suffered “reputational harm” from Warren’s attack, but upheld the trial court ruling in Warren’s favor.
“Senator Warren’s letter did not cross the constitutional line between persuasion and coercion,” the court stated.
