Armed Bystander Who Killed Criminal Wielding Fake Gun Could Face Charges In Texas

Will there be charges for the good guy with a gun who stopped a bad guy with a fake one?

  • Texas authorities are mulling charges for an armed 46-year-old bystander who shot and killed a convicted criminal during an attempted robbery.
  • 30-year-old robber Eric Eugene Robinson had previously served 6 years in prison for assault with a deadly weapon, and was killed by an unnamed 46-year-old armed bystander as he held up a Houston, Texas taqueria. The armed bystander has not been identified and is cooperating with authorities.
  • “In fear of his life and his friend’s life my client acted to protect everyone in the restaurant. In Texas, a shooting is justified in self-defense, defense of others and in defense of property,” said the shooter’s lawyer.
