Austin: M1 Abrams Tanks Headed To Ukraine Soon

- The United States will soon deliver M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine as the Ukrainian forces continue their counter-offensive against Russian troops, announced Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Tuesday.
- A gathering of representatives from numerous countries backing Ukraine is taking place in Germany to deliberate on providing further assistance to Ukraine. This discussion coincides with the upcoming address to the UN General Assembly by Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
- Earlier in the year, Washington had committed to providing 31 tanks to Kyiv, as part of the more than $43 billion in security aid pledged by the United States since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
