  • The immediate response to the April 4 fatal stabbing of Cash Ap founder Bob Lee in an upscale part of San Francisco was that the killing was another in the city’s increasing problem with random, violent crime.
  • However, investigators and the news media later revealed the alleged killer knew Lee and a possible motive was Lee’s relationship with the suspect’s sister.
  • Lee was reportedly part of what in some wealthy tech circles is known as “The Lifestyle,” an underground party scene featuring recreational drug use and casual sex.
  • The successful tech executive liked to hang out with that crowd, according to people who also participated. So too did the suspect’s sister, the wife of a prominent plastic surgeon, those people also said.
