- On Tuesday, 20 states sued the Biden administration regarding the legality of a new U.S. Department of Homeland Security program announced by the president on January 5.
- The program, according to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, “unlawfully creates a de facto pathway to citizenship for hundreds of thousands of aliens.”
- The administration’s plan includes expanding a parole system and allowing 360,000 additional foreign nationals who are in the U.S. illegally to be released into the country.
- Florida has previously sued over this system and the case went to trial on the day that Biden announced he was expanding the system in question.
