Biden Special Counsel Previously Took Down Corrupt Maryland Democrats

  • Prior to his appointment as special counsel on Thursday, former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur previously served as the chief federal law enforcement officer in Maryland where he took down a number of corrupt Democratic officials.
  • During his tenure as the chief federal law enforcement officer in Maryland, Hur was a major force in tackling corruption, bringing and resolving charges against key officials such as former Baltimore City Democratic Mayor Catherine Pugh, former Baltimore City Police Commissioner Darryl DeSousa, former Maryland Democratic state Rep. Cheryl Glenn, Former Maryland Democratic state Rep. Tawanna Gaines, and former Maryland Democratic state Sen. Nathaniel Oaks, the DOJ observed in a press release announcing his 2021 departure from the DOJ.
