BLM, L.A. Cops Clash Over City Council’s Racism Scandal

  • BLM protesters tried to shut down a Los Angeles City Council meeting until councilmen Kevin de Leon and Gil Cedillo resign for their racist comments in a 2021 meeting.
  • The protesters wanted to prevent the council from selecting a new president to replace Nury Martinez, who also was caught on tape making racist remarks and resigned the presidency.
