The shooter who attempted to assassinate former President Trump used a gun that had been purchased by his father, according to several news outlets.
Bomb-making materials were found inside the vehicle of the shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, of Bethal Park, Pennsylvania.
The shooting occurred Saturday afternoon at a Trump campaign rally in nearby Butler, Pa.
Bomb-making materials were discovered in the shooters car and his home.
The shooter’s father, Matthew Crooks, declined provide details about his son until he talk to law enforcement, according to CNN.
