First it was conservatives who were alienated by Bud Light’s embrace of transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. Now leftists have called for a Bud Light boycott because the brand backed away from its support of Mulvaney.
“Maybe the worst thing the company did was leave Mulvaney all alone, twisting in the wind, abandoning any kind of defense of her. That is an utterly repugnant reflection of the brand,” said John Casey, a contributor with The Advocate and a public relations executive. “It’s not Kid Rock and Ted Nugent who should be boycotting Bud Light. It should be us.”
But Light’s market share has been plummeting in recent weeks following the rollout of the Mulvaney campaign.
