British Spy Chief: Russia Is ‘Desperate’

  • Russia appears to be “desperate” in its ongoing war effort, according to the head of a British intelligence agency on Tuesday.
  • “We can see that desperation at many levels inside Russian society and inside the Russian military machine,” said Jeremy Fleming, director of Britain’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).
  • When asked if Russia is running short on munitions, in light of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s call-up of 300,000 troops, Fleming responded, “I think the answer to that is pretty clear. Russia and Russia’s commanders are worried about the state of their military machine.”
