California Arrests Eight In $1 Million Retail Theft Operation

Suspects targeted mostly Apple stores

  • California Attorney General Rob Bonta said that eight suspects were arrested for allegedly stealing approximately $1 million worth of merchandise, mostly from Apple stores.
  • The alleged organized retail theft operation was conducted between August 2022 and January 2023 in numerous counties across the state.
  • The suspects are alleged to have barged into stores and detained customers and employees while stealing merchandise, “including numerous phones and tablets worth thousands of dollars from each location.”
