Canada Brings In Chinese Ambassador In Wake Of Spy Balloon Spotting

  • The Canadian government has summoned China’s ambassador to explain the high-altitude surveillance balloon that the Pentagon said was “most certainly” launched by Beijing and currently resides in U.S. airspace.
  • Global Affairs Canada (GAC) spokesperson Jason Kung said, “We will continue to vigorously express our position to Chinese officials through multiple channels.”
  • The balloon is being closely tracked by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and Canada’s National Defense Department is assessing a “potential second incident.”
