Cheney: ‘I Won’t Be A Republican’ If Trump is ’24 Nominee

- Cheney this summer lost her reelection bid in Republican-strong Wyoming over her outspoken criticism of former President Trump, primarily over the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
- Cheney is also co-chairperson of the Democrat-led House committee investigation the riot and related matters.
- “I’m going to make sure Donald Trump, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he is not the nominee. And if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican,” Cheney said.
