Chicago Police Stations Becoming Unofficial Migrant Shelters

According to sources within the Chicago Police Department, migrants seeking asylum have taken shelter in at least two police precinct lobbies.

These individuals have resorted to sleeping in the entryways of the stations and do not have access to proper hygiene facilities, leading to illnesses and vomiting.

Despite expressing sympathy towards these migrants, CPD officials view this situation as a reflection of the larger immigration crisis affecting the nation. Chicago has been a designated “sanctuary city” for over five years.
