China Opens Borders, Bringing End To ‘Zero COVID’ Policies
China opened its borders Sunday after having essentially closed them completely at the start of the pandemic, which for about three years has kept apart some families members and others.

- Travelers when the ban was lifted arrive in China by air, land and sea.
- As a result of the change, mainland China opened its sea and land crossings with Hong Kong and ended a requirement for incoming travelers to quarantine.
- “I’m so happy, so happy, so excited. I haven’t seen my parents for many years,” Hong Kong resident Teresa Chow said as she prepared to cross into mainland China from Hong Kong.
