• When searching for major Chinese cities where protests are taking place, online users will “mostly see ads for escorts/porn/gambling, drowning out legitimate search results,” according to Air-Moving Device.
• According to the analysis, there has been a “significant uptick” in these spam tweets, with the “vast majority” of accounts – over 95 percent – appearing to be spam accounts that “tweet at a high, steady rate throughout the day, suggesting automation.”
