Christie, Sununu Each Refer To Trump’s Call For Protests As ‘Circus’

  • Potential Trump 2024 GOP presidential nomination challenger New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu made the comment Sunday, one day after Trump said on social media that he anticipates being arrested Tuesday on federal criminal charges.
  • “It is going to be a circus, right?,” Sununu said on CNN’s “State of the Union” when asked whether the former President Trump has a responsibility to ensure supporters protest peacefully. “If someone’s calling for protests, you always want to make sure that they’re peaceful.
  • “The circus continues. I mean, look, he only profits and does well in chaos and turmoil. And so he wants to create the chaos and turmoil on his terms. He doesn’t want anybody else’s terms … he wants it on his terms,” 2016 GOP presidential contender with Trump and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on ABC’s “This Week.”
