Court documents related to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein are set to be released this week and former U.S. President Bill Clinton is reportedly identified as “John Doe 36” in the trove of documents. According to ABC News, Clinton is mentioned over 50 times in redacted documents related to a 2015 lawsuit from Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre.
Although not expected to implicate Clinton in any illegal activity, the references to Clinton are expected to stem from Giuffre’s attempts to compel the former president to testify against Epstein and his former paramour and co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell. Other mentions of Clinton relate to Epstein’s repeated evocation of his Fifth Amendment rights during a deposition in 2016, when both Maxwell and Giuffre attempted to make Epstein speak out.
Giuffre, who claims she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, and other high-profile men, has been a vocal advocate for justice following Epstein’s death in a New York City jail cell in August 2019.
As a result of Epstein’s death, the criminal case against him was dismissed without a trial. However, many of his alleged co-conspirators are still being pursued, including Maxwell, who was arrested earlier this year and remains in jail awaiting trial.
The release of the court documents comes as a blow to Clinton, who has faced accusations from President Donald Trump for alleged wrongdoing with Epstein and the Epstein-related suicide of Clinton associate Jeffrey Epstein. The allegations against Clinton have been consistently denied, and Clinton’s spokesperson has stated that the former president has never been on Epstein’s private island or his home in New Mexico.
Despite the denial, the mention of Clinton’s name in the court documents is sure to reignite interest in the high-profile case and the alleged involvement of some of the world’s most powerful people in Epstein’s illicit activities. The release of the court documents will offer a rare glimpse into the Epstein scandal and the extent of his network.
