- CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy released a letter sent by CEO Chris Licht to staff, signaling a round of layoffs that will impact paid contributors at the network starting at the end of this week.
- “Today we will notify a limited number of individuals, largely some of our paid contributors, as part of a recalibrated reporting strategy. Tomorrow, we will notify impacted employees, and tomorrow afternoon I will follow up with more details on these changes,” the letter reads.
- Licht has previously been vocal about a desire to return CNN to a focus on hard news reporting, a shift from the Leftwing mania that consumed the once-respected network during the Trump years.
