Colorado police are investigating an incident involving GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert and her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert.
The embattled congresswoman said she is consulting with an attorney to evaluate her options.
Law enforcement responded to a call Saturday evening involving the divorced couple in a restaurant in Silt, Colo.
The town’s police chief told The Denver Gazette newspaper that the Boeberts were involved and he plans on reviewing surveillance tape.
“This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I’m moving,” Lauren Boebert said in a text message sent through a spokesperson.
The two-term Colorado congresswoman is congressional switching districts for the upcoming 2024 race as she seeks the seat currently held by outgoing Republican Rep. Ken Buck.
She faces a difficult primary challenge in the district she won represents, following an embarrassing behavior last year at a staging of the musical “Beatlejuice.”
She also denied any wrongdoing amid reports that she punched her ex-husband twice.
