commercial airline jet transporting 62 people aboard crashed in a residential area of a city in Brazil’s Sao Paulo state Friday, according to VoePass Linhas Aéreas officials, but it is unknown how many people were injured or killed.
In a statement released by VoePass, the airline that a jet headed for Sâo Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport crashed with 4 crew members and 58 passengers.
The statement didn’t offer any details about what occurred or downed the airliner.
Firefighters in the city of Vinhedo confirmed the jet’s crash in the area, and that they were sending personnel to search for survivors amid the airliner’s wreckage.
