Costume Designer Says She Kicked JFK Jr. Out Of Manhattan Shop For Mocking Trans Employees

  • According to a report published Sunday by Page Six, Field said in the memoir that the younger Kennedy had come into her shop along with his then girlfriend, actress Daryl Hannah, and appeared to take issue with the fact that Hannah was getting more attention than he was from the staffers.
  • “Drag queens love a good mermaid,” Field wrote in the book, suggesting that Hannah’s role as a mermaid in the 1984 film “Splash” was the reason that her staffers “went gaga” over the actress — and all but ignored Kennedy.
  • “He looked around and announced, ‘Bunch of freaks.’ If JFK Jr. was looking for attention with his comment, he got his wish,” the “Sex and the City” costume designer wrote.
