Crist’s Running Mate Wants Opponent’s ‘Latina Card’ Revoked

  • Karla Hernandez, Charlie Crist’s running mate to be lieutenant governor of Florida, is new to politics and has had some missteps on the campaign trail.
  • Hernandez wasn’t happy that Republican Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nunez suggested that Gov. Ron DeSantis would send Cuban illegal immigrants to Delaware.
  • Hernandez didn’t like that idea and said that Nunez’s “Latina card should be revoked” because she was betraying her heritage.
  • But even the left-wing Tampa Bay Times, which hates DeSantis, noted at the time, Nunez’s comment was “widely consistent with DeSantis’ immigration agenda,” which was to help illegal immigrants find another place to go.
