- Over 31% of registered voters didn’t vote, according to the comparison of preliminary data present Monday by Alina Balseiro Gutiérrez, president of the National Electoral Council.
- Balseiro Gutiérrez found 5,728,220 Cuban men and women voted, which represents 68.58% of the national electoral roll.
- The number purportedly presents the lowest percentage in any vote carried out during the communist regime.
- “Preliminary results: 31.42% abstention, the highest in the last 63 years. 2,623,091 people did not turn out to vote,” reported Inventario, an independent data journalism project.
