Debt D-Day, But Expectations Low Of A Deal Between Biden And McCarthy

With just a couple of weeks to go before the nation reaches its debt ceiling, today’s White House meeting is a big deal.

But indications are that there isn’t enough time to cut an agreement and President Biden plans to ignore House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s demands for spending cuts.

Fox reports: Time is an enemy. Mr. Biden huddles with the top four bicameral Congressional leaders on Tuesday. But it would be a challenge to muscle through an agreement by the deadline – even if they forged an agreement at the White House conclave.
