- Following the Supreme Court’s decision returning the abortion issue to the states, Ohio adopted a law banning abortions once a fetal heartbeat has been detected.
- Judge Christian Jenkins, a Hamilton County Democrat, stopped enforcement of the law for 14. days, saying it might violate the state Constitution.
- The Ohio Supreme Court had allowed the law to stand while it was being challenged by the ACLU. The ACLU then filed a second suit, leading to the injunction.
