- The leaders of a suburban county in New York have raised concerns and directed blame towards New York City Mayor Eric Adams following the discovery of 31 migrants crowded into a single-family home in a tranquil residential area earlier this month.
- The undocumented immigrants, hailing from Ecuador and Guatemala, were uncovered residing in a 1500-square-foot residence in New City, situated within Clarkstown, Rockland County. Acting on a tip, investigators secured a warrant to inspect the premises, where they found over 30 migrants living in substandard conditions.
- Local authorities reported that children were residing in cramped spaces, using unadorned mattresses in an unfinished basement, the attic, and the garage. Additionally, extension cords and a microwave were found in the garage. County-released photos depict a sizable Guatemalan flag adorning one of the bedroom walls.
