Dem. Sen. Kelly: Trump Supporters Should Be Able To Protest ‘Peacefully’

  • Arizona Democrat Senator Mark Kelly made the comment on CNN’s “State of the Union,” on day after former President Donald Trump said he could be arrested Tuesday on criminal charges related toManhattan prosecutor’s probe into hush money paid to former porn actress Stormy Daniels.
  • Trump’s supporters, “have First Amendment rights, and they should be able to exercise those peacefully,” Kelly said.
  • However, Kelly, who is a senator in a so-called purple state, also said law enforcement officials should be prepared to “make sure it doesn’t rise to the level of violence.
