White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt harshly rebuked “full-blown crazy” Democrats for advocating illegal immigrants, suggesting the party’s motto should be “illegal immigrant criminals first.”
Leavitt’s comment comes as Oscar Eduardo Ortega-Anguiano, an illegal immigrant who was previously deported twice and killed two 19-year-olds in a drunk-driving accident in November 2021, could be released in California.
The press secretary detailed how the administration is “taking action” to prepare for Ortega-Anguiano’s release, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement placing a detainer on him. She added that the Department of Justice will seek a conviction against him should California choose not to cooperate with the administration.
“President [Donald] Trump is not going to tolerate illegal immigrant crime, and this individual case represents everything that is wrong with our immigration system,” Leavitt stated on Fox News’s America Reports. “This individual was twice deported, but was allowed back into our country by the previous administration, took the lives of two young Americans, and is now barely facing any consequences. We will not tolerate it.”
