- Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez won the open seat in the state’s 3rd Congressional District over Trump-endorsed Republican Joe Kent.
- The Associated Press on Saturday called the race in favor of Perez, who had 50.8% of the vote, compared to 49.2% for Kent with with 70% of the ballots counted.
- Kent has yet to concede the race.
- “What the media says is irrelevant, it’s another narrative designed to stop voters from ballot curing & to force me to concede – not gonna happen,” he tweeted.
- The seat is now held by Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, a Republican who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
