- Documents from the hacktivist group, Backdoor (3ackd0or), showed Quds Force Unit 840 Commander Mohammad Reza Ansari was in charge of the operation to assassinate former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former national security advisor John Bolton. The operation was in retaliation for the U.S. targeted killing of top IRGC commander General Qasem Soleimani.
