Disney Warns Of Pending Outages Of Its Streaming Services

Disney has warned customers that they may lose access to some of their favorite streaming services by the end of October.

Just a month after striking a deal with NBCUniversal to avoid dropping its networks, YouTube TV is once again at risk of losing major channels.

Disney’s carriage agreement with YouTube TV is set to expire on October 30.

If the two companies fail to reach a new deal, YouTube TV subscribers could see some of the most popular networks disappear from the service.

Disney-owned networks such as ESPN, ABC, FX, Nat Geo and more could disappear from YouTube TV’s service.

On Thursday, Disney began airing on-screen messaging alerting viewers of YouTube TV that their channels may go dark.

YouTube TV has publicly stated they are negotiating ‘in good faith,’ but that Disney’s demands would raise costs for their subscribers and reduce choice.

‘This is the latest example of Google exploiting its position at the expense of their own customers,’ a Disney spokesperson said in a statement.
