Disney’s Woke, LGBTQ-Oriented ‘Strange World’ Flops In Opening

It looks like audiences didn't want to stand in line to see Disney propaganda!

  • Disney’s Strange World has massively underperformed at the box office, grossing an estimated $18M in the Thanksgiving 5-day period off production costs of around $140M+.
  • The cartoon features a subplot with a gay teen character who is in love with another boy.
  • Disney downplayed the LGBTQ context in the marketing, but talent in the press tour repeatedly brought it up. This follows the underperformance of another Disney cartoon with LGBTQ themes this year, Pixar’s Lightyear.
