Division I, NCAA Basketball Team’s Season Suspended, Hazing Allegations

  • The New Mexico Aggies were in California to play Cal Baptist when school administrators on Saturday canceled the game scheduled for Sunday and called the basketball team back to campus.
  • The players have been interviewed by school officials and coaching staff is on paid administrative leave while the school conducts an investigation into the alleged hazing incidents.
  • The school chancellor called hazing a “despicable act” that “humiliates and degrades someone and has the potential to cause physical and emotional harm, or even death.”
