  • A Jan. 6 defendant’s lawyer this week said Justice Department attorneys would not tell him whether planned witnesses in the case were FBI informants.
  • That revelation came shortly after the government acknowledged another planned witness was an FBI informant, according to a hearing transcript obtained by American Greatness’ Julie Kelly.
  • Sabino Jauregui, defense lawyer for former Proud Boys National Chairman Enrique Tarrio, who is standing trial in federal court, learned Wednesday that a defense witness he planned to call was an FBI informant from April 2021 to January 2023.
  • Jauregui asked DOJ lawyers whether his next two witnesses also were FBI informants. “You know what they told me?” Jauregui said. “Nothing. They don’t know.”
