Dollar General Found To Jeopardize Worker Safety, Department Of Labor Says

OSHA inspection finds violations of federal workplace safety standards

  • The Department of Labor announced that a Dollar General store in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, was found to have “dangerous safety hazards,” such as blocked emergency exits, during an OSHA inspection. 
  • This inspection was one of over 180 investigations where Dollar General was found to be compromising worker safety, according to the DOL. 
  • Despite making $37.84 billion in sales in fiscal year 2022, the discount retailer was issued a $245,544 fine.
