- Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) is considering a third-party presidential bid as she seeks to do “whatever it takes” to stop former President Trump from winning in 2024, she told the Washington Post in an interview published Tuesday.
- Cheney, an outspoken critic of the former president, said that she “would not have contemplated a third-party run” several years ago, but now she thinks the stakes are too high.
- “I happen to think democracy is at risk at home, obviously, as a result of Donald Trump’s continued grip on the Republican Party, and I think democracy is at risk internationally as well,” Cheney told the Post.
