Driver Has History Of Mental Illness, Violence: Family

The U-Haul driver who allegedly plowed into at least eight people Monday morning in Brooklyn, New York, has a history of violence and mental illness, his family said.

Police sources told The York Post the suspect is Weng Sor, 62.

Sore was sentenced to one to three years for stabbing his brother in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2015, according to court records.

“He’s a schizophrenic. He’s crazy,” Daryl Singer, Sor’s brother-in-law told the newspaper.

The suspect, believed to be homeless, allegedly down cyclists and pedestrians in the van out of which he’d been living the police sources also said.
