Coal, Natural Gas-Fired Power Plants In Crosshairs

  • The Environmental Protection Agency proposal reportedly would require fossil fuel-fired power plants to substantially curb cut or capture the vast majority of their carbon dioxide emissions by 2040 emissions or use expensive carbon capture technology.
  • The agency seemed to confirm to Fox News Digital at least existence of the proposal in saying the agency could not comment “because the proposals are currently under interagency review.”
  • The country has 3,393 fossil fuel-fired power plants nationwide, the majority burning natural gas plants, according to recent federal data review by Fox News Digital.
