- In June 2021, criminal indictments were filed against Weisselberg, Trump Organization related to charges company avoided paying taxes on fringe benefits such as cars and apartments received through the company.
- The case is being investigated by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, which filed 15 criminal charges against Weisselberg and Trump Organization, including fraud, conspiracy and falsifying business records.
- Case is separate from a deposition former President Trump gave last week in probe by New York Attorney General Letitia James over allegations Trump Organization misstated the value of assets, misled lenders and tax authorities.
- Weisselberg has refused to testify against Trump.
