Federal Judge Allows AZ Group To Monitor Ballot Drop Boxes

  • U.S. District Court Judge Michael Liburdi refused on Friday to bar a group called Clean Elections USA from monitor outdoor ballot boxes in Arizona’s largest county.
  • Liburdi said to do otherwise could violate the monitors’ constitutional rights.
  • Local law enforcement officials say that some ballot-box monitors have shown up armed and in ballistic vests.
  • Arizona law states electioneers and monitors must remain 75-foot (23-meter) from a voting location.
