- Convicted murderer Donald David Dillbeck is scheduled to be executed on Thursday at 6 pm following the refusal of the U.S. Supreme Court to block the execution.
- Dilbeck will be the first person executed in the state of Florida since 2019.
- He will be the 100th inmate executed since the death penalty was reinstated in Florida in 1976, according to the state Department of Corrections website.
- It would be the first execution since Gary Ray Bowles was put to death by lethal injection in August 2019 for a 1994 murder in Jacksonville.
