Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Friday that prohibits credit card companies from tracking purchases of firearms and ammunition.
During a news conference, DeSantis stated that Florida would be the first state to prohibit financial institutions from collecting data on individuals and flagging them for exercising their right to bear arms.
He questioned whether individuals should be flagged for purchasing ammunition or visiting shooting ranges.
